On Monday, February 13, Cerf stated, “Everyone is talking about ChatGPT or Google’s version of it and we know it doesn’t always work the way we would like it to.”

The “Father of the Internet” issued the warning shortly after Google, Microsoft, and Meta announced their intentions to introduce their own ChatGPT.

People could presume that because artificial intelligence is still in its early stages, it would always generate perfect outcomes. However, due of usual errors, it still fails to produce desired results.

Google Was Hesitant to Release Bard

Google announced last week that it intends to build an AI-powered software that can rival ChatGPT. The business is confident that Bard will help it dominate the competition.

John Hennessy, the chairman of Alphabet, said that the company is not yet prepared to make Bard available to the general public.

According to Business Today, Hennessy also said that Google is still “unsure” about whether it would proceed with the launch of the ChatGPT rival chatbot.

He added that it might take one to two years for Bard to become really refined and valuable for consumers as an AI tool.

In order to compete with Microsoft’s own GPT tool, Google believed that rushing into Bard was a good approach. After the announcement, Alphabet’s stock unexpectedly fell to 9%.

According to Tech Times, many Google employees believe that Sundar Pichai minimized the decision because of the failed Bard launch.

This product was referred to by some employees as “rushed” and “un-Googley,” a phrase indicating an unfinished good that is not yet prepared for widespread use.
